How We Work
How We Work
Every session begins with your dog, not a camera.
We keep things relaxed, personal and unhurried. You know your dog better than anyone, so we work together: you tell us what makes them tick, and we plan a session around them, guide it on the day and take care of the photography. Here's how it works, from our first conversation to the moment your favourite photographs become part of your home.
01
A Complimentary Consultation
Getting to know your dog before we ever pick up a camera
Before your session, we want to understand your dog. So every session starts with a relaxed, complimentary consultation by phone or video call, whichever suits you best. There's no obligation and no rush. It's simply a chance to talk about them.
We'll ask about their personality. Are they the one who greets every stranger like an old friend, or do they prefer to watch from behind your legs for a while? Are they a ball-obsessed sprinter, a slow sniffer, a sofa-loving cuddler? We'll ask what makes them light up: a particular toy, a squeaky noise, a favourite treat, the sound of their name said a certain way.
Just as importantly, we'll ask what worries them. Busy paths, bikes, other dogs, loud noises, unfamiliar people, travelling in the car. Some dogs are nervous, some are reactive, some are getting older and need a gentler pace, and some are still puppies with very short attention spans. None of that rules out a session, as long as you tell us about it. Knowing in advance means we can plan around it together, rather than discovering it on the day.
From there, we'll plan the session together: the right location, the right time of day and the right pace for your dog. It's a partnership. You know your dog better than anyone, and you stay in control of them throughout, handling their lead, keeping them safe and helping them feel at ease. We'll guide the session and take care of the photography.

Your Session
Relaxed, natural and fun
A session typically lasts around an hour. That's enough time for your dog to settle in, explore and relax, without tiring them out. Some dogs are comfortable within minutes; others need a little longer to sniff around and decide we're friends, so we give them time to settle in.
Your session takes place outdoors, often somewhere your dog already loves: a favourite park, a woodland walk or a wide open space. We're also happy to photograph them in your own garden, where they feel most at home.
We start slowly. Your dog meets us on their terms, with treats, a calm voice and no camera pointed at them straight away. Once they're comfortable, we follow their lead: running, exploring, resting, rolling in the grass, gazing at something in the distance. The photographs you'll love most often happen in between the "posed" moments, so we never ask for perfect behaviour, and there's nothing to practise beforehand.
Your dog's safety comes first, and you stay in control of them throughout. They stay on a lead wherever the law, the location or common sense requires it, and leads can usually be edited out of the final images. We plan around anything that might unsettle them, take breaks whenever they need one, and will always pause or adapt if something isn't working for them.
Photographing more than one dog? The session fee is the same, and your session time is shared between them, so let us know when you book and we'll plan it to give each dog their moment. On the day, bring their usual lead, favourite treats or toy, and some water. If the weather looks unsuitable, we'll talk to you before the day about the best way forward.

Our Creative Process
Where your portraits come to life
After your session, we carefully go through every image and choose the very best. Each one is then individually edited in our signature style, with attention to light, colour, tone and the small details that make your dog look like your dog. Where we can, we remove leads and tidy away distractions, so the focus stays on them.
This is the heart of what we do, and it’s why people choose us. Trusting our style means we don’t supply unedited files or edit to individual requests, but if there’s something you’d love us to know, just tell us before your session.

Your Private Gallery
Time to choose, without pressure
Within 2 to 4 weeks of your session, your photographs will be ready in your own private online gallery. Every image has been carefully selected and individually edited, with attention to colour, light and the small details that make your dog look like your dog.
Take your time. Look through them on your own, with your family, or over a cup of tea on a quiet evening. There's no pressure and no expectation to buy everything. We'd much rather you choose a few photographs you truly love than many you feel you should.
Your session includes £50 credit, taken off whatever you choose from your gallery. If you'd like a second opinion on which images would work best on a wall, in an album or as a set, just ask. We're always happy to help.

Keeping Them Forever
More than a photograph
Every dog has a personality all of their own: the ears that never quite stand up, the way they lean into you, the look they save just for you. A portrait captures exactly who they are right now, so it's yours to treasure for years to come.
The photographs you choose can become whatever feels right for your home. A single framed portrait you pass every day. A handmade album for the coffee table, picked up again and again. Or your favourite images to keep safe and share with everyone who loves your dog too.
Whatever you choose is made to last. Every frame and album is handmade in the UK, and your digital files come in high resolution, yours to keep. Years from now, these are the moments you'll come back to.
